Napoleon Luxuria Gas Fireplace Selection and Installation
Find the fire that fits your home
The Napoleon Luxuria is a wide-format architectural fireplace for homeowners who want the fire and surrounding wall to read as a coordinated design. It combines a broad linear view with a layered glass system and a customizable fire presentation. Chimneys Plus helps decide which size and viewing arrangement suit the room before the feature wall is built.
Serving the Triangle and surrounding Central North Carolina communities.
What makes this family different
The current US family offers 50, 62 and 74 sizes in single-sided and see-through configurations. Its Glass Guard system, ember-bed lighting, remote and eFIRE control distinguish the package from a simpler linear fireplace. Approved media and interior choices tailor the look. The glass system reduces burn risk; it does not make the fireplace a surface that should be touched during operation.
Selection and installation, considered together
Consider a single-sided model for one feature wall or a see-through when two spaces benefit from the same display. Some installations can use an approved indoor/outdoor kit, but that is a specific designed configuration—not permission to expose an ordinary indoor face to weather. Napoleon identifies this as a decorative appliance, not a source of heat. Chimneys Plus plans the vent route, framing, service access and approved heat-management system together. Television placement and combustible finishes depend on the precise model, kit and installation instructions, plus the television’s own temperature limits.
This is a complete built-in gas fireplace with its own firebox, not an insert that requires a separate existing fireplace. Its direct-vent combustion system uses outside air and exhausts outdoors rather than using already conditioned room air for combustion. A suitable vent route, the complete enclosure, finish materials and service access all matter; the appliance’s body dimensions alone do not establish installation fit.
Chimneys Plus handles or coordinates gas piping, required electrical work and permitting. We check the fuel supply and the selected model’s requirements before finalizing the installation. The installation manual requires hardwiring. The normal electrical connection is still necessary even though backup batteries can operate the burner controls. Lighting and powered accessories require household power.

Frequently asked questions
How is the Napoleon Luxuria different from a standard linear fireplace?
Its layered Glass Guard system and coordinated architectural presentation are important distinctions. Compare the complete package—glass system, media, controls, heat-management provisions and enclosure requirements—rather than comparing width alone.
Can a Napoleon Luxuria connect a room and an outdoor living area?
Potentially, using the specifically approved indoor/outdoor configuration and kit. Chimneys Plus checks the exact model, exterior exposure, framing, sealing and venting requirements before recommending that application.
Can the Napoleon Luxuria operate during a power outage?
Yes! With gas available and the specified working batteries installed, the burner can operate during an outage. Other electrical features, including lighting, are unavailable. A gas power-vent installation will not operate without power. This is decorative flame operation, not a rated backup-heating system or a replacement for home heating.
Does the Napoleon Luxuria require an electrical connection?
The installation manual requires hardwiring. The normal electrical connection is still necessary even though backup batteries can operate the burner controls. Lighting and powered accessories require household power. We coordinate the electrical work, so you do not need to arrange that part of the project separately.
Is the Napoleon Luxuria glass safe to touch?
The Glass Guard system is designed to reduce burn risk, not to remove every hot-surface hazard. Keep the required glass and barriers installed, follow the safety instructions and supervise children and pets around an operating or cooling fireplace.
Can the Napoleon Luxuria use an existing gas line?
Possibly. Chimneys Plus checks fuel type, pipe capacity, pressure, shutoff access and the demand from other appliances. An existing connection does not automatically mean that the line is adequate for the new fireplace.
Does installing or replacing a Napoleon Luxuria require permits?
Yes, fireplace switch-outs require permitting even when a gas line already exists. Chimneys Plus confirms the applicable requirements and handles permits for the installation.
How should I maintain a Napoleon Luxuria?
Follow the model’s care instructions and arrange qualified inspection and service at least annually. Burner and pilot condition, approved media placement, glass, controls and venting all deserve attention. Keep required barriers installed and keep enclosure air openings unobstructed.
