Different Types of Gutter Guards & Covers
A visit to any home improvement store will reveal a wide variety of gutter cover systems that claim to provide leaf protection for your gutters. These may be sold only through installers or may be available for DIY projects. These systems all have different methods of installation or may attach to your roof differently. Be sure to ask how this might affect your roof warranty before installing a system yourself.
Solid Gutter Covers
The majority of the professionally installed gutter cover systems, including Gorilla Guards. They cover the entire gutter except for a narrow gap, allowing the surface tension of water to carry into the gutter, while debris is pushed off the roof.
Mesh Gutter Covers
There are several brands of this type and they consist of a metal screen (varying in design) that fits over the gutter to keep debris out and allow water to pass through.
