A Premium Flame Presentation Within the Grand Canyon Vented Collection

If the appearance of the fire is your priority, Grand Canyon’s Lava Burner with GlowFire logs offers a distinctive premium option. Fuel ports are integrated into the logs, so flames emerge from the logs themselves. The result is a layered presentation that gives the impression of wood actively burning.

This is a vented gas-log system, like the other options in Grand Canyon’s vented collection. Its separate place in the collection comes from the burner-and-log design and the appearance of the flame, rather than a different venting category. Chimneys Plus can help you compare it with Grand Canyon’s traditional log arrangements and select the presentation that suits your fireplace.

Choose Your GlowFire Look

Grand Canyon currently presents two Lava Burner log styles: Arizona Weathered Oak Charred and Aspen Birch Charred. Both use GlowFire technology, with different wood character and coloring. The collection is offered in nominal 18-, 24-, 30- and 36-inch sizes. The right size depends on the complete system’s installation requirements, not simply the width printed on the log set.

Convenient Controls, Carefully Matched Components

The Lava Burner pairs its GlowFire logs with concealed controls. Electronic ignition choices include on/off operation and variable-flame models. Power and battery requirements vary with the control configuration; we will confirm those requirements for the selected system. Natural-gas and propane versions are available; the system must be selected for the fuel it will use. Logs, burner and controls need to be the approved combination for that model.

Designed for Fireplace Ambiance

GlowFire’s flame presentation is the reason to consider this collection. The Lava Burner is a decorative vented appliance, not a heating appliance. Installation requires a compatible wood-burning fireplace, proper venting and adequate combustion air. Selected installations may also be suitable for a protected, covered patio when all manufacturer requirements are met.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Grand Canyon’s Lava Burner with GlowFire logs different from traditional gas logs?

GlowFire integrates fuel ports into the logs, allowing flames to emerge from them. We consider its flame presentation a premium choice within Grand Canyon’s vented collection. Traditional log arrangements offer their own realistic appearance; comparing the two is primarily about the fire presentation you prefer.

Are Grand Canyon Lava Burner / GlowFire gas logs vented or vent-free?

This Lava Burner collection is vented. It requires a suitable fireplace and chimney arrangement, including the manufacturer-specified permanent vent opening. The damper must remain fully open during operation. It should be chosen for ambiance rather than as a home-heating solution.

Is the Grand Canyon Lava Burner with GlowFire logs the same as Bedrock Traditional?

No. Both use GlowFire technology, but they are different burner families. Bedrock Traditional uses a linear drop-in arrangement. This page covers the Lava Burner Front View system. Chimneys Plus can help you compare the appearance and installation requirements of each.

Can Grand Canyon Lava Burner / GlowFire logs be installed outdoors?

The manufacturer permits specified covered-patio installations with protection from direct water and sunlight. Required roof and side protection must also be met; having a roof overhead does not by itself make an installation suitable. We can confirm whether the selected system is appropriate for your outdoor fireplace.

Can Chimneys Plus install a gas line for a Grand Canyon Lava Burner / GlowFire system?

Yes. Chimneys Plus is licensed in North Carolina to install gas piping, and we routinely handle this work as part of gas fireplace appliance installations. We can evaluate the gas supply, install the piping needed for the appliance and handle required permitting.
