Napoleon Ascent Multi-View Gas Fireplace Selection and Installation

Find the fire that fits your home

A fireplace can bring two spaces together or make a room divider feel less solid. The Napoleon Ascent Multi-View offers that possibility with see-through and three-sided peninsula designs. If you want the fire visible from a dining area as well as a living room, Chimneys Plus can help decide which shape works best with the way your home flows.

Serving the Triangle and surrounding Central North Carolina communities.

What makes this family different

Choose a two-sided view through a wall or a peninsula view around its end. Log and glass-bed versions let the same overall family suit traditional or contemporary interiors. The burner and media package must be selected as an approved combination; appearance is more than a last-minute accessory choice.

Selection and installation, considered together

This family makes sense when the second or third view genuinely improves the space. We consider traffic patterns, furniture distances and finish details on every exposed side. A peninsula is not simply a single-sided fireplace with its side panels removed, and a see-through is not automatically an indoor/outdoor model.

This is a complete built-in gas fireplace with its own firebox, not an insert that requires a separate existing fireplace. Its direct-vent combustion system uses outside air and exhausts outdoors rather than using already conditioned room air for combustion. A suitable vent route, the complete enclosure, finish materials and service access all matter; the appliance’s body dimensions alone do not establish installation fit.

Chimneys Plus handles or coordinates gas piping, required electrical work and permitting. We check the fuel supply and the selected model’s requirements before finalizing the installation. The Ascent Multi-View installation manual requires hardwiring. The backup system supports the controls, not electrically powered accessories.

Napoleon classifies this as a decorative appliance, not a rated backup-heating system or a replacement for home heating.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose a Napoleon Ascent Multi-View see-through or peninsula?

A see-through provides opposite views through a dividing wall. A peninsula adds a view around the end of the fireplace. We compare circulation, furniture placement and available construction space before selecting either.

Can the Napoleon Ascent Multi-View have logs instead of glass?

Yes. The family has log and glass-bed versions. We select the corresponding approved burner and media package, with suitable interior panels, so the fireplace’s appearance and operation work together.

Can the Napoleon Ascent Multi-View operate during a power outage?

Yes! Its electronic ignition includes battery-backup capability, allowing burner operation when gas and the specified working batteries are available. Any optional blower needs household electricity. We confirm the precise backup procedure and accessory limitations for your installed configuration.

Does the Napoleon Ascent Multi-View require an electrical connection?

The Ascent Multi-View installation manual requires hardwiring. The backup system supports the controls, not electrically powered accessories. We coordinate the electrical work, so you do not need to arrange that part of the project separately.

Can the Napoleon Ascent Multi-View connect an indoor room to a patio?

Do not assume that an indoor see-through fireplace is approved for an exterior-wall installation. We would evaluate a specifically approved indoor/outdoor system for that application instead of exposing an indoor face to weather.

Can the Napoleon Ascent Multi-View use an existing gas line?

Possibly. Chimneys Plus checks fuel type, pipe capacity, pressure, shutoff access and the demand from other appliances. An existing connection does not automatically mean that the line is adequate for the new fireplace.

Does installing or replacing a Napoleon Ascent Multi-View require permits?

Yes, fireplace switch-outs require permitting even when a gas line already exists. Chimneys Plus confirms the applicable requirements and handles permits for the installation.

How should I maintain a Napoleon Ascent Multi-View?

Follow the model’s care instructions and arrange qualified inspection and service at least annually. Burner and pilot condition, approved media placement, glass, controls and venting all deserve attention. Keep required barriers installed and keep enclosure air openings unobstructed.
