Keep Rain and Critters Out of Your Chimney and Home

The top of your chimney is exposed to both the outside elements as well as a lot of smoke and heat from inside your chimney. Chimney caps, chase covers, and top sealing dampers all work to protect this area of your chimney, by keeping out rain, tree debris, animals, and chimney swifts. They also contain any sparks that may try to escape from the top of your chimney. Having less external debris or disturbances allow your chimney to function as it should – safely and efficiently!

Chimney Chase Covers

Chimney Chase Covers are vital to keeping water and debris out of your chimney chase. Poorly designed and poorly installed chase covers cause extensive water damage inside homes.  Ours won’t rust, ours won’t leak, and ours are carefully measured and installed to shed water evenly off the top.

Chimney Chase Covers

Chase Covers are used to cover tops of chimneys that are built from wood framing instead of traditional bricks and mortar, often called pre-fab chimneys. Chimney chase covers serve the same purpose as chimney caps. Often chase covers are poorly constructed and become concave allowing water to pool and rot out the chimney structure and damage internal chimney components.

The clearest signs of a deteriorated chase cover are rust streaks on the sides of the chimney. We recommend replacing your rusted chase cover with a new stainless steel chase cover with metal ribbing designed to maintain a convex shape and shed water away from the chimney structure.

Top Sealing Damper

Top Sealing Dampers are for fireplaces only. Dampers are like doors that can be opened and closed to prevent heat loss up the chimney when the fireplace is not in use.

The top sealing damper actually mounts on the very top of your chimney and you open and close the seal tight lid via a stainless cable that runs to a convenient latch in your fireplace. This is a great alternative to a broken, poor fitting or missing conventional damper. They keep the rain and critters out as well. Very popular and an inexpensive upgrade to an existing fireplace chimney.
